ANSWERS
What are Home Churches?
Home Churches are a gathering of up to 12 people who come together weekly to grow spiritually, develop meaningful healthy relationships, and experience genuine Christian community. But most of all, Home Churches are meant to be FUN! A Home Church is where you can share life experiences and support one another in your day to day lives. It is the heart of The Sanctuary, where you will feel connected with others, discover your God-given talents, and learn how you can contribute to the larger community of The Sanctuary.

Why should I belong to a Home Church? Home Churches are not just an idea that The Sanctuary thought up and decided to implement. Small Home Churches are God's idea of how He wants us to build relationships and grow spiritually at the most fundamental level. In the early church, we see examples in the Bible of this:
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyday they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. (Acts chapter 2, verses 42, 46-47)
As we grow as a church, Home Churches will become even more important in developing community life. If you only came to our Sunday Celebration services and never joined a Home Church, you would miss out on the relational part of what The Sanctuary is designed to be. Join a Home Church and learn what genuine Christian community is all about!

How can I join a Home Church?
There are several ways to get connected with a small group:
- Check out the Home Church Listing in the Sunday program or Sanctuary Newsletter for new groups starting up.
- Fill out a Communication Card in the Sunday program and check the Home Church Interest box. A member of the Home Church Team will contact you as soon as possible.
- Contact Jeff Chase and he will help you get grouped! Be sure to let us know the type of group you are interested in and days of the week that are good for you.

Can I try more than one Home Church at a time?
Absolutely! Since Home Churches are the way you will connect with others at The Sanctuary, we want you to find a group that “fits” you. Feel free to check out several Home Churches until you find the one that is right for you.

15-20 minutes: Get acquainted, icebreaker to get the group going, and coffee.
30-45 minutes: Discussion of the group’s topic for that week.
15-30 minutes: Wrap-up, sharing of prayer requests, prayer time, and snacks.
OUR
BASIC FORMAT:
People to People: informal fun & icebreaker.
People to God: a time of praise-singing and prayer.
God to People: a time of listening to God from His Word.

I’m not a Bible Scholar; will I feel comfortable in a Home Church?
A Home Church is meant to be a loving and caring place where individuals are accepted for who they are, not what they know. You will never be made to feel uncomfortable for not knowing something. We are all growing together, and The Sanctuary’s Home Churches are a safe place to come and learn no matter where you are on your spiritual journey.

What is “The Big Idea” for Home Churches?
The Big Idea connects the theme of Sunday’s message to a real-life application of that theme in our Home Churches. It’s making the biblical lesson practical to where we live. After all, who needs theoretical spirituality?
